State of Tennessee Grainger County

I Dudley Mayes do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made. First I direct that my funeral Expenses and all my Debts be paid as soon after my Death as possible out of any monies that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executor.Secondly I give and bequeath to Jane Kidwell five dollars. Thirdly I give and bequeath to Scytha Caroline McCarty five dollars. Fourthly I give and bequeath to Green Berry Mayes one hundred acres of land I entered Adjoining the lands of Howels, Daniels, and Kidwels, also my Interest to my Fathers Land yet undivided. Fifthly I give and bequeath to Anna Burnett five Dollars. Sixthly I give and bequeath to Edward Mays and William Mayes all my tract of land on which I now live to be equally Divided equal between them also my two entries adjoining my home farm. Seventh I give and bequeath to William Mayes my Blacksmith tools, and all my loose property to be divided between my two sons Edward and William. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Green B. Mays my Executor In witness whereof I do to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this 2nd Day of August 1844.
