In the name of God Amen I William May of the county of Charlotte being infirm
as to bodily health but of sound mind and memorry do make and ordain this my
last will and testamnet . First my will and desire is that all my just debts
be paid and the except which is due from my mother to Wm. B. Green to be paid
out of my estate. Item I give to my beloved mother my bay horse Robin to her
and her heirs forever. Item I give to my brother Robert H. May my slaves
Primus
and Cletia to him and his heirs forever likewise my Interest in my mothers
dower of my fathers Estate also all moneys which may be due to me and all my
property which I have not heretofore exposed of to him and his heirs forever,
my
deire is that my brother Robert H. May be my Executor to this my last will and
testament given under my hand and seal this sixteenth day of April one
thousand eight hundred and twenty three.

This Last Will and Testament of William May was presented in Court & the
Same
was moved by the oaths of Cornelius Barnes & John Tombs two of the
subscribing Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And on the
motion of Robert H.
May the executor therein named who made oath according to Lew
probate
thereof is granted him on giving bond & security whereupon he with Thomas
Brooks
and Allen Gilliam his securitys entered into and acknowledged their bond
accordidng to law for that purpose.
