This Indenture made
the 20th day of December 1809 between James Walters and Lidia his wife of the
County of Nelson of the one part and James Mays of the said County of the other
part. Witnesseth that the said James Walters and Lidia his wife for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred and ten pounds good and lawful money of
Virginia to them in hand paid by the said James Mays before the ensealing and
delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath
granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell
unto the said James Mays his heirs and assigns, one certain tract or parcel of
Land lying and being in the County of Nelson on the North branches of Tye
River, containing seventy one acres and is bounded as followeth (to wit)
Beginning at a Spanish oak corner to John Dillard, and said James Mays, thence
with said Dillards line South 73 degrees East 80 poles to pointers North 23
Degrees East 26 poles to pointers North 21 Degrees East 106 poles to pointers
corner to James Dillard and with his line North 20 Degrees West 82 poles to pointed
corner to the said James Mays, and with his line South 28 degrees West 210
poles to the first station. To have and to hold the said tract or parcell of
Land with its appurtenances to him the said James Mays and his heirs and
assigns forever, be the same more or less, and the said James Walters and Lidia
his wife doth hereby warrant and forever defend the said Tract or parcel of
Land to the said James Mays and his heirs and assigns from all claims and
demands of any person or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said James
Walters and Lidia his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the date
above written.

1809. This Deed was acknowledged in Court by John Walters and Lidia his wife,
she being first privily examined as the law directs and Ordered to be Recorded.
