The state of Tennessee Number 2023
To all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that in consideration of an entry made in the office of the surveyor of the Fifth District of number 586 founded on a certificate of number 191 issued by the region of East Tennessee to Spruce McCoy
for one hundred and forty three and a third acres of land dated the ninth day of January 1811.
Entry dated the 13th of August 1811. One hundred and four acres of which said certificate is registered in Sherod Mays the entry by assignment
there is granted by the said state of Tennessee unto the said Sherod Mays and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and
four acres lying in the county of Granger in the district of Hamilton on the South side of Hoston River
including his occupant claim. Beginning at a beech and maple on the River bank thence South fifteen East with Francis Daniels line two hundred and ten poles to a Spanish oak,
South forty seven West One hundred and twenty five poles to a black oak and white oake side of a rocky ridge,
West twenty poles to a post oak and hickory, South ten pole to live post oak on
Kidwell's line then with the same South eighty ____ one hundred poles to two post
oak north twenty pole to a stake on Henry and Sherod Mays's former line then with the same North forty five East
two hundred and twenty five pole to a black oak than with said line North one hundred and twenty six pole to the beginning
surveyed. June the 25th 1810 with the ___ and appurtenances. Two have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Sherod Mays and all his heirs forever. In witness where of Willie Blount governor of the state of Tennessee hath hereunto
set his hand and caused the great seal of the said state to be affixed at Knoxville on the Fifth Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
