            This Indenture made This fourth day of October in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and Ninety four between Benjamin Bridgfourth of the County of Nottoway of the one part and Robert Mayes & Agness his wife of the other part Witnesseth that the said Robert Mayes & Agness his wife for & in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds to them in hand paid by the said Benjamin Bridgfourth the Receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have given Granted bargained sold aliened Enfeoffed & confirmed & by these presents do give grant sell alien Enfeoff & confirm unto the said Benjamin Bridgfourth his heirs & assigns forever a certain Tract of Land Containg one hundred and Eighty Three acres lying on the waters of the Hurrican Creek in the County of Nottoway and bounded as follows to wit, beginning at a corner poplar on John Wilk's line Thence North twenty two degrees West twenty Eight & a half poles to a corner White Oak Thence along the said Wilk's & Elisha Gunns line North Thirty six degrees East sixty seven poles to a corner in Gunns old field, then along the said Guns line North Thirty Three & a half degree West, one hundred & forty one poles to James Eckles corner, Thence along James Eckles line south seventy seven degrees West Eighty one poles to Thomas Eckles at a Corner post oak, Thence along Thomas Eckles line seven and a half degrees East Eighteen & a half poles to a corner pine Thence along the said Eckles line North Eighty degrees West Thirty two poles to a corner on the said Eckles line Thence along the said Eckles line south seventy seven degrees west untill it strikes the new Dividing line between the said Tract of land & the Tract belonging to Edward Mayes Thence along the said new dividing line untill it strikes Matthew Mayes line Thence along Matthew Mayes line south Eighty five degrees East to the beginning with Everything thereunto appertaining or in any wise belonging To have & To hold the aforsaid Tract of land with all & singular The appurtenances to the only proper use & behoof of him the said Benjamin Bridgfourth his heirs & assigns forever and the said Robert Mayes for himself his heirs Executors & administrators do covenant & agree with the said Benjamin Bridgfourth to warrant and forever defend the right Title & Interest of him the said Benjamin Bridgfourth his heirs and assigns forever of in and to the aforesaid tract of land with every thing thereunto appertaining or belonging free from the Title claim Interest or demand of him the said Robert Mayes & Agness his wife and from the Claim Interest or demand of any other person or persons Whatsoever. In Witness whereof they have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
