"Mayes's Lease of Land to Nance"

This Indenture made the Seaventh day of January . . . . . . . . .  .in the year of our Lord God One thousand seaven hundred and sixteen, Between Henry Mayes of Prince George County of the one party and Daniel Nance of the same County of the other Party Witnesseth that the said Henry Mayes hath Devised granted and to form lettem and by these presents doth Devise grant & to form lettem unto the said Daniel Nance One hundred Acres of Land now in his quiet and peaceable possession and Seisin  by virtue of these presents, Situate Lying and being in Bristol Parrish in Prince George County bounded on the Lands of Major Robert Munford, John Mayes and the said Nance his Land including the said Hundred Acres of Land To have and to hold use Occupy and Enjoy all and Singular the said Lands and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining together with all houses buildings fencings Orchards Gardens woods under wood sways waters here.....  and appurtances whatsoever to the said Land or any part thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining.  To have and to hold all the said Land and premises with the appurtanances thereunto belonging and before in these presents mentioned to be Devised unto the said Daniel Nance his heirs and assigns from the day of the Date hereof for and During and until the full end and term of three years next ensuing fully to be compleated and ended Yeilding and paying therefore yearly and every year during the time hereby granted unto the said Henry Mayes his heirs and assigns the fee rent of One Shilling Current money of Virginia if the same shall be Demanded in Witness whereof the said partys have hereunto Set their hands and Seals the Day and year above written. At a Court held for Prince George County on the second Tuesday in January 1716 being the Eighth Day of the said month. The above written Deed of Lease of Land (Indented and Sealed) was in Open Court acknowledged by the Subscriber thereto to be their act and Deed to the ther in Named Daniel Nance and his Ex'rs: on whose motion the same by Order of the Court is truly recorded.                         Test  Wm Hamelin  Cl Cor.

 

"Mayes Release of Land to Nance" This Indenture made the Eighth Day of January  . . . One thousand Seaven hundred and Sixteen  Between Henry Mayes of Prince George County of the one part and Daniel Nance of the same County . . .  for Eleaven pounds . . . grant release and confirm unto the said Daniel Nance his heirs and assigns forever one hundred acres of Land . . . . At a Court held for Prince George County in the Second Tuesday in January 1716 being the Eighth Day of the said month. Henry Mayes and Elizabeth his wife appeared in Court and the said Elizabeth being first privately Examined acknowledged the above Deed of release of Land (Indented & Sealed) to the therein named Daniel Nance and his heirs on whose motion the same by order of the Court is truly.  the said Elizabeth also relinquished to the said Daniel her right of Dower in and to the said Lands therein the said Deeds mentioned which by Order of the Court is Likewise recorded
